I first had my Vietnamese subway/sandwich in Melbourne, in a town called Footscray. I still remember the whole scene of when I was in Melbourne. Anyways, back to reality here in Kuala Lumpur, for someone who has been craving for Vietnamese sandwich (aka Bahn Mi), I decided to take the risk to try it here in KL.
Honestly, it came to a surprise that there's this place in Damansara Uptown which serves quite good Vietnamese sandwich. I often patronize this place, and would say I'm quite a frequent customer to this place. Recently, they just opened their second branch in One Utama.

O' Terriyaki |
For those who do not fancy pork, you can try the O' Terriyaki which consists of Terriyaki marinated chicken with all the vegetables you get in your usual Vietnamese sandwich. For example, the pickled vegetables was just great. Do remember to add as much as Sirracha chili sauce for that "kick". For chicken Vietnamese sandwich here in OBahnMi, I would prefer to opt for the Lemongrass Chicken instead of the Terriyaki Chicken.

Pork & Prawn Rice Paper Roll |
The ingredients were fresh. One of the freshest Vietnamese Rice Paper Roll I have ever tasted. However, the sauce was just a miss. It did not give that pungent after taste, it simply didn't leave any "special" feeling to it. And in some ways, the sauce was just too diluted.

O' Roasty |
Wanted to be more adventurous instead of sticking to my usual, thus decided to try the O' Roasty. Normally, for pork, I would either go for their O' BBQ or their OMG sandwich. Hands down, I had both the O'BBQ and OMG! way too many times. First time trying the O' Roasty which honestly was not to my liking because it's roasted pork belly (too much fatty layers). My companion did like the O' Roasty, so it boils down to preferential after all.

Overview |
An overview of what we had on that day. The Vietnamese Lemon Tea was nice.
Of course, above and all, O Bahn Mi is still my top place to be, when it comes to sandwiches.
The only bad thing about O Bahn Mi - It's quite pricey.
For a sandwich, it would costs around
RM 11-15, which I believe you can gulp down three plates of "mix rice" here in Malaysia. I just feel relatively, bread costs more than a plate of rice with dishes. To me, it just doesn't jive.
Back in Melbourne, the Vietnamese sandwich costs AUD4 but the main dishes (i.e: rice/noodles) costs about AUD10. If you are in Melbourne, the good Vietnamese sandwich is called
Nhu Lam, you can get it in places like Footscray, Richmond and Preston.
