Riblee's @ Desa Sri Hartamas

Before I begin rambling about Riblee's, let's be honest here.. I have never heard of this restaurant not until I browsed through Groupon Malaysia. Groupon is an amazing platform to get to know any restaurant (from a diner perspective), and also a great platform for small restaurants to get known in the eateries market.

I always seem to be spending my free time looking at Groupon, in hopes to pick up some great deals. Nevertheless, Riblee's full rack pork ribs, offered at RM 55 caught my attention right away. I was contemplating whether to purchase the voucher as I have never heard of this restaurant. But fred not, Google is always there to help me decide. Having Google-d the restaurant, it appears to be quite popular with recommendation on TripAdvisor too. So, I thought to myself... in just few seconds... BAM! Bought it straight away!

Riblee's has been operating close to 8 years with a year in Taman Megah, which they then moved to Desa Sri Hartamas thereafter.

The offer on Groupon is pretty sleek with Full Rack Pork Ribs, Two bowls of soup, and a Dessert for RM55(also incorporating tax).

Arrived on a Saturday night, was packed(better to place a booking in advance). You may be greeted by two beautiful young kids which happens to be the owner's children. It's a pretty cosy restaurant as it's a family business itself. (so both their kids may be serving you, don't be harsh :) )

As soon as we sat down, the owner comes up to inform us of a mishap in the delivery of their pork ribs, which sadly, we had to settle with half rack of pork ribs & their speciality St Louis Pork Belly. Dang! Was looking forward for the full rack of pork ribs. :( But it was fine to me though.

Cream of Tomato Soup

The cream of tomato soup was not to my liking as it purely taste like tomato with a very sourish kick to it. However, my companion did like the soup as mentioned that it taste much better, the more you indulge in it. If you are into the "Tomato"-ish taste, then you should try this soup.

Cream of Mushroom Soup
Just like usual Mushroom Soup, it always has that Campbell feel to it. This does taste like Campbell soup but with generous amount of mushrooms in it. I really love this version of Cream of Mushroom Soup as many places I've tried is just diluted, but this indeed has a great consistency to it.

Half Rack Pork Ribs & St Louis Pork Belly

Dish of the night! How can one not love pork ribs? Especially when it's babyback pork ribs. In case some may wonder what is so special about Baby Back.. BabyBack pork ribs in general are much more tender and juicier compared to a normal pork rib. Normal pork ribs could be pretty tough and dry if not cooked well. Thus, for Western style pork ribs, always aim for the Baby Back :)

We had a choice on which style of cooking we would like for the ribs. We chose Bourbon Triple Glazed Babyback. The ribs were scrumptious. It was so yum to the extent that I was craving for more. :) The St Louis Pork Belly however was great at first bite but after awhile, it died down as the layer of fat was just too much. Wasn't really to my liking. I would opt for more ribs instead.

There are so many other flavours to choose from, for the pork ribs.. They have style ranging from the very far Texas Babyback, to the Classic American Babyback to even Carribean Babyback.

Verdict : Great ribs! (great deal from Groupon as a full rack of pork ribs costs about RM85 without tax, whereas Groupon is offering at RM55)

If you ever plan to visit this place, ensure booking in advance.. ensure you park at the row where the restaurant is as the row behind the restaurant requires RM10 for parking (which is ridiculous since it's a public area).

Just look out for Daorae Korean restaurant in Desa Sri Hartamas, it's located along the same row.

Steven's Chicken Chop @ Damansara Uptown

Since young, I have been patronizing the same shop whenever I have the "chicken chop" cravings. It's not in a restaurant, nor in a shop lot, but it's in an open food court situated in Damansara Uptown. I remember those days where a plate of a sinful chicken chop would cost RM6.50 but right now, that same plate of chicken chop costs RM12/RM13. Fred not, it is still a satisfying plate of chicken chop. Besides chicken chop, they do sell grilled chicken, lamb, and beef. All I can say is that if you have not try this out, you MUST. The only down side to it is that : - the environment is filled with mosquito. I wouldn't mind (as the food do come quickly), but to those that mind, perhaps you could pack the food back home. But do bear in mind, if you choose to pack it back home, it may be soggy. Directions to the place :- 1. Head to Damansara Uptown (if you have no idea where that is, popular shops such as Village Park Nasi Lemak, Every Sundae, A Pie Thing, Damansar

Ekkamai @ Jalan Batai, Damansara Heights

When Thai food is not done right, it would taste bland; When Thai food is done right, your taste would bend. But thankfully for Ekkamai @ Batai, they did Thai food justice! My first experience in Ekkamai was at the Publika branch and it wasn't a pleasant dining experience as I felt the food lacks the flavours and one of the soup had a bad smell to it (Tom Kha Salmon Belly, to be exact). At this point, I told myself to not walk into the one in Publika anymore, and give the one at Batai a chance. Stumbled upon the branch at Batai, and why not? Did not regret it, food was delightful, ambiance was just perfect for a group dining, or even a romantic couple dining experience. Only down-side is the parking at Batai (a 4 hours catching up with friends, could costs you about RM15 just for the parking). Enough said, food pics! Sharing Platter ✭✭✭✰✰  The sharing platter is a good combination of several starters. Do note that this would just be enough for 2-3 person. The pand

Chuai Heng Restaurant @ Kuala Lumpur

Apologies for the lack or rather the sudden disappearance from this blog. Fred not, I am back here with a brand new post. This time, it's a restaurant that has been in the city centre for quite a long time. I remembered having the dim sum here few years back, and it was alright. Thus, having friends down in KL from overseas, whom were craving for Dim Sum.. first thing that came to my mind was Chuai Heng Restaurant. Reason why I chose this place is that the environment is great and peaceful for a great catch-up and chit chat session. :) Chuai Heng is, of course the more "high-class" place for Dim Sum, probably comparable to places like Dai Thong or Overseas Restaurant or Oriental Pavillion. It's tucked in Bukit Bintang, pretty close to Prince Court Hospital.. roughly about a minute or two from Prince Court Hospital. Steamed Peanut  As usual, in places like these, they will always serve a saucer of steamed peanuts. Of course, is to be noted that there is no suc
